3300+ Climbing Blog
A handful of us from 3300+Climbing and an even larger crowd of Full Sail students, faculty, and staff congregated at the Double Tree Hotel in downtown Orlando to connect with other aspiring music industry professionals as well as established professionals not too long ago on Saturday November 21st, 2015. The event, officially known as the Fifth Annual Network Music Conference and Entertainment Convention, began at 11am with the panel Super Women –Heroines of the Entertainment Industry and ended with a very entertaining talent showcase towards the end of the evening. And in between all the networking and vendors such as Smothers Law Firm, Plush Studios, 1st Institute, TM Graphics, and ADV, entertainment business panels were being conducted by various industry professionals, Full Sail instructors, and notable alumni.
And they were quite informative! One of the best feelings in the world is learning something that immediately clicks with you and your work. Somewhat like a missing puzzle piece that makes the whole picture look pretty awesome.
Naturally, when Revolt’s CEO Keith Clinkscales showed up at The Network Music Conference, the entire room was packed out and for good reason, too. His knowledge, his experience, and his personal brand are all valuable examples to refer to when defining success in the entertainment industry.
And of course, we can’t forget Denny Soloist. The winner of 3300+Climbing’s most recent talent showcase in October came to the conference looking quite cool and ready to perform at The Network Music Conference. Many of the artists, all extremely talented, performed upbeat and fun songs to bounce around to but Denny, cast under romantic lighting, changed the mood. His performance, equipped with an acoustic guitarist playing by his side, was definitely impressive and we at 3300+Climbing wish him the best of luck with his future music.
All in all, The Network Music Conference was a success. 3300+Climbing definitely learned a few awesome things to take back to our home turf at Full Sail University. We will definitely apply our new found knowledge to our current artist development project with musician Stephanie Berlanga.
