3300+ Climbing Blog
By JOSH DAVIS
Every six months, 3300+Climbing takes on a developing and independent artist to be its next Featured Talent. Round 4 of submissions is nearing, now that fall is here and come December they will have their next artist. Two weeks ago, Music Business students in Project and Portfolio IV course at Full Sail had the opportunity to pitch an artist to 3300+Climbing in class by evaluating skills and analysis of the artist of their choice. This inaugural session will continue monthly as a standard part of the course.
3300+Climbing members who attended got the opportunity to give feedback on the artists the Portfolio IV students chose to present. Faculty in attendance included Israel Vasquetelle, Alex Knight, Allison Struthers, Chris Goyzueta and Kristopher Nichols, as well as Music Business and Entertainment Business department head, Jackie Otero. Portfolio IV students were tasked with selling their artist to 3300+Climbing and why their artist should be chosen for Round 4. The great thing about each student’s pitch was that they were all passionate about the artist and that they believed in what they were saying.
If you are a student interested in pitching an artist to 3300+Climbing, keep in mind the requirements. The artist must be unsigned, not be a current Full Sail student and needs to be able to get to Winter Park, Florida for either two weekends or one week, in a six-month period. Each member of the act must be 18 years or older. Most importantly, these artists must have original content. No samples should be included in submissions.
